In 2019, Code for America's Clear My Record initiative developed technology that helped District Attorneys across California implement H&S § 11361.9 (marijuana conviction relief) well in advance of the July 2020 deadline, with minimal staff resources and significant cost savings.
The toolkit provided at no cost to DAs included:
- The Implementation Blueprint: A step by step guide to best practices related to H&S § 11361.9 implementation
- The Clear My Record Application: Technology that analyzes conviction data based on eligibility criteria, and produces output files with eligibility determinations that courts can use to update records
